Onus Observer LLC is a Registered Investment Advisor, managing the finances of technology employees and cryptoasset holders.
The RIA model offers both independence to seek out the right solution and the legal obligation to act in a client's best interest.
My name is Zahid Jafry. When I first started in this industry, I became quickly frustrated with the way the fees were set up and how clients didn’t always receive the best investment advice. The first company I founded was centered on trying to make sure people understood where conflict-of-interest could arise. Understanding where the onus lay has been exceptionally important to me. That early company was focused on finding great advisors for clients.
Onus Observer LLC is my attempt to bring my clients what’s best about the industry and profession, while protecting them from the worst.

Founder
Zahid A. Jafry has nine years of experience in private wealth management, including at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Prior to Onus Observer, Zahid was a director at Rootlogix where he spearheaded the sourcing and valuation of food companies. He spent part of that time on a portfolio company advising on ways to increase sales and invest in growth markets. At Merrill, Zahid built a practice on integrating best approaches at two leading $1B AUM businesses. He served on the investment committee where he made recommendations on municipal bond, hedge fund and private equity managers.
Zahid is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Toronto where he received an MBA in Investment Banking. In his spare time, he serves as a Board Member for Conard House, a 501(c)(3) providing permanent supportive housing to those suffering from mental illness.
